Our mission to make cities more liveable is centered on providing high quality, sustainable biking solutions for members. Unfortunately, this mission is unachievable in areas with low demand and few members, as it means we are unable to provide epic service in a viable manner for our business. Therefore we are closing Milan. Closing a number of our cities was a decision that was not taken lightly, and it breaks our hearts to have to say goodbye. We ask you to return your bike before the 31st of March. To make things as easy as possible, we already added an end date for you and we will waive the one month cancellation period, you will only be charged for the days that you are using the bike in March.

You can come by our store during opening hours to hand in your bike. Please keep in mind that it can be a bit busier than usual as this is a big operation, we will help you as efficiently as possible. If you are still in possession of your Swapfiets bike after 31-03-23, we will cancel your subscription and will have to charge you the full value of the bike. So we urge you to hand in the bike in time.

No stress. Every Swapfiets membership includes free standard service and repairs in 48 hours or less. Hit us up via our app, tell us the problem and we’ll fix or Swap it for another one. If you have an emergency and you're in one of our service areas, we can come to you and fix you up on the spot. Otherwise, for speedy service swing by one of our stores - no appointment necessary!

Preventing theft starts with securing your ride! All our bikes come with in-built double locks, including battery locks for our e-Bikes. Always remember to double lock your bike. If someone steals it (or you lose it) when double locked, you’ll pay a surcharge, depending on the type of bike. But don’t stress. In the unfortunate event that your bike is stolen, we’ll help you file a police report and we’ll get you another Swapfiets right away - so you can get back on two wheels in no time.
When you’re done with your Swapfiets for whatever reason, simply cancel your membership and return the bike to one of our stores. Remember to check the terms of your membership first, and be aware all our memberships include a one month cancellation period. From there we’ll give it a quick tune-up and send it on it’s way to serve another member, no unnecessary waste involved. How’s that for smart?
